What can I expect from Rwanda?

How to Get There: From the US, you can fly to Kigali International Airport (KGL) on airlines such as Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Ethiopian Airlines, with connections through Doha, Istanbul, Brussels, or Addis Ababa.

Currency: The local currency is the Rwandan Franc (RWF). Credit cards are accepted in major hotels, but cash is useful for smaller purchases. 1 US dollar is approximately equivalent to 1,300 RWF.

Language: The official languages are Kinyarwanda, English, French, and Swahili. English is widely spoken in tourist areas.

Credit Cards & ATMs: Credit cards are accepted in hotels and upscale restaurants. ATMs are available in Kigali and other major towns.

Plugs: The standard voltage is 230 V, with a frequency of 50 Hz. Rwanda uses Type C and J plugs. A universal adapter is recommended.

Safety: Rwanda is considered one of the safest countries in Africa, with low crime rates and a strong focus on security.

BEST TIME TO VISIT:

The best time to visit Rwanda is during the dry seasons from June to September and December to February, which are ideal for gorilla trekking and outdoor activities.
