What can I expect from Mexico?

How to Get There

From the US, you can fly direct to major Mexican cities such as Mexico City, Cancun, or Guadalajara from various hubs including New York (JFK), Los Angeles (LAX), and Dallas (DFW).

Currency: The local currency of Mexico is the Mexican Peso (MXN). The US dollar is also accepted in many tourist areas, with 1 US dollar equivalent to approximately 17-18 MXN.

Language: Spanish is the official language of Mexico. English is commonly spoken in tourist areas and major cities, but learning a few basic Spanish phrases can enhance your experience.

Credit Cards & ATMs: Credit cards are widely accepted at hotels, restaurants, and shops. Carrying some cash for smaller purchases is advisable. ATMs are readily available in cities and tourist areas.

Plugs: The standard voltage is 127 V, and the frequency is 60 Hz. Mexico uses Type A and B plugs, so bring a universal adapter if needed.

Safety: Mexico is a popular tourist destination with many safe areas, but it’s wise to exercise usual travel precautions. Avoid isolated areas at night and be mindful of your belongings.

Mexico is a year-round destination with varying climates. The best time to visit is from November to April during the dry season, when the weather is pleasant and ideal for outdoor activities. The rainy season runs from May to October, with higher humidity and occasional storms.
