How to Get There

From the US, you can fly direct to Amman on Royal Jordanian Airlines from New York (JFK) or take connecting flights through European hubs such as London or Frankfurt.

Currency: The local currency of Jordan is the Jordanian Dinar (JOD). The US dollar is also accepted in many places, with 1 US dollar equivalent to approximately 0.71 JOD.

Language: Arabic is the official language of Jordan, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas and major cities.

Credit Cards & ATMs: Credit cards are commonly accepted at hotels, restaurants, and shops in cities. It’s a good idea to carry some cash for smaller purchases. ATMs are available in major cities and tourist locations.

The best time to visit is from March to May and September to November, when the weather is pleasant for sightseeing and outdoor activities. The summer months can be very hot, especially in desert areas.
